Kara Johnson is an enthusiastic, energetic and high-performing real estate agent licensed with Keller Williams Capital Properties in Washington, DC since 2009. Prior to entering the real estate business, she worked in international program management and complex event planning for 7 years with non-profit organizations and the government. Fluent in French with a Master’s degree from New York University in Paris, she coordinated and executed high-visibility visits for senior foreign military officers and high-ranking government officials while with the U.S. Department of Defense. A third generation native Washingtonian, Kara grew up in Upper Northwest DC, lived in Georgetown for 9 years and currently resides in a converted historic church in Columbia Heights. In her free time she enjoys the beach, interior design, yoga, Zumba, international travel, and playing with her doggy friends. She’s also licensed in Maryland and in Delaware where she has a beach house that she renovated and rents out in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Kara joined the Board of DC WISE because she believes in the mission of women supporting other women and coming together to leverage resources for the greater good. Born and raised in DC proper and having attended DC public schools as well as Washington International School, she has deep roots in the DC community and is invested in giving back.
